Fellow of the Hymn Society in the US and Canada
She is the first NZer to receive this honour.
 
  Honorary Doctorate
The University of Otago awarded the NZ hymnwriter Shirley Murray an Honorary Doctorate as part of their December 2009 Graduation Ceremony
